Stay safe during the COVID-19 crisis

During weird times, we need clear minds.

Currently we are all facing an unprecedented situation. As COVID-19  touches all aspects of society it is important to stay connected, be supportive, and take all the recommended measures to prevent the spread of this virus. Though social distancing is keeping us safe. it is also keeping us apart, thankfully in these modern times, we have new resources that give us the means to stay in touch and monitor one another's well being.

With implemented stay-at-home orders, self-isolation, and quarantine etiquette in effect for many it is very easy to feel depressed and alone. Here are a few tips to creatively adapt and stay connected during this pandemic:

Regular Check-Ins

This could be as simple as a "Hello, how are you?" via text or messenger. Or what a great time for a video chat to really show off and inspire others with all the neat things you have been doing to keep busy!

Get Online

There is no better moment to reconnect with old friends or to strengthen community bonds. Many communities are coming together to provide beautiful ideas for all ages to keep occupied such as daily themes for decorating windows, online book readings, and even virtual dinner dates. From karaoke to "LEGO" creations, with social media, there are numerous daily challenges to partake in to keep your hobbies, skills, and talents sharp as you connect and make new friends.

Create a Routine

One of the hardest parts of isolation is the sense of having no control. Though we may not be able to change what is happening in the world around us, we can take charge of our day to day life and feel less anxious and overwhelmed by establishing routines within our homes. Exercise, meditating, practicing healthy nutrition, and maybe even developing or strengthening a skill are just a few activities to apply to daily tasks to help provide your days with purpose and order. Why not blow the dust off some of those old board games for a fun family pastime?

Most importantly, STAY POSITIVE.

Stay safe, stay home, and stay up to date.
